The short version: your trading history never leaves your device. We only keep your email and your purchase, so we can let you in.
Who looks after your data
YOUR FULL NAME, trading as Noctius, YOUR BUSINESS ADDRESS, ENGLAND, is responsible for your personal data. Contact: hello@noctius.com.
Your trades
When you import a history file, Noctius reads it inside your browser. The file and your trades are never sent to us. They're saved in your browser's own storage on that device, and in any backup files you choose to download.
What we do keep
- Your email address, so we can send your sign-in links and anything you need to know about your purchase.
- Your purchase: what you paid, when, in which currency, and the payment reference from Stripe or NOWPayments.
- Short-lived security records: sign-in links (they expire after 15 minutes, or 7 days for the one in your welcome email) and counters that stop people spamming sign-in emails (they clear after an hour).
- Basic server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure.
We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and we don't sell or share your data for marketing.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one essential cookie, nx_s, which keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. Noctius also uses your browser's storage to keep your trades, your rules and your name on your device. None of this is used to track you.
Why we're allowed to use it
- To sell you Noctius and let you use it (our contract with you).
- To keep tax and accounting records (a legal duty).
- To keep the service secure and stop abuse (our legitimate interest).
Who helps us
These companies process data for us, only for the jobs listed: Stripe (card payments), NOWPayments (crypto payments), Cloudflare (hosting), Upstash (the database holding purchase records) and Resend (sending emails). Some of them store data outside the UK, protected by legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept for 6 years, because UK tax rules require it. Everything else is deleted when it's no longer needed, as described above.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Just email us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
